Congratulations to all Richmond supporters, especially to ETU VIC Assistant Secretary, Ivan Balta, and his family. Ivan’s son Noah played a magnificent role in his first ever AFL grand final victory for the Tigers.
It was a tough game, but in the end Richmond proved too good for Geelong, running away to win by 31 points. It was the team’s third premiership in four years.
Geelong led the way early in the game, leading by seven points in the second half, howwever, the Tigers showed their steel in the second half, kicking four goals to one in the third quarter and nine goals to two after half-time.
Noah played a fantastic game, and has built a reputation for being one of the best defenders this season.
This year Richmond also signed Noah’s cousin, 213cm college basketballer Mate Colina, as a category B rookie. Colina will be the tallest player ever on an AFL list.
There is nothing like winning and sharing the victory with your family! Once again well-done Noah and a big shout out to Ivan and Marina for supporting their son on his footy career journey.
