The ETU, along with unions from across the country came together for the second Trade Unions for Democracy Summit, in Melbourne.
It was so powerful to have unions in a room together continuing to chart a course for our future.
Trade Unions for Democracy calls on the Government to respect union democracy and to expressly and directly adopt pro-worker and pro-union policies.
“A union belongs to its members. The ETU will always fight to defend union democracy. No Government has the right to take that away from union members. Unionists from across the country met today as we continue to chart out a new vision for Australia’s future which puts workers at its very core” – ETU national Secretary, Michael Wright
Union power cannot and must not be diluted by Governments of any stripe.
